Photographer Annie Leibowitz was born in Westport (Connecticut, United States), in 1949. In 1969 she moved to Israel, where she was living in a kibbutz and she was a part of an archaeological project in the temple of King Solomon. In 1990 she founded the Study Annie Leibowitz in New York. One year later her work was exhibited in the National Gallery of Portraits of the Smithsonian Institute of Washington D.C., being the first woman of the history in obtaining it. In 1996, owing to the Olympian Games of Atlanta, published the book Olympian Histories, a compilation of athletes' photos. In 1999 she published a book titled Women in the one that was showing women's photos in different situations.
